Saw Teeth
Top quality saw teeth fit nearly every variety of hot saw made. Designed for Quadco®, Koehring®, Hydro-Ax®, Tigercat®,
Timberjack®, Cameco®, and Barko® saw heads. All teeth are made from heat treated alloy steel for maximum life.
Now available in 4 different cutting configurations to match specific cutting conditions.
CONCAVE SAW TEETH
Very efficient cutting tooth in non-impact harvesting applications. Concave design removes chips with very little energy
when sharp. Easily re-sharpened with an oval grinding stone.
BEAVER SAW TEETH
Use this tooth design in areas where you expect rock impacts. 40° angle of cutter tip gives this tooth good chip disposal
and additional metal backing for impacts. Very popular in New England, Lakes States and the West Coast..
CARBIDE SAW TEETH
These carbide cutters are built with four 5/32" carbide plates that overlap at the intersections. This design lessens sand
blow-by. Carbide cutter should be used only in extremely clean — low impact conditions.
SUPERTIP CARBIDE SAW TEETH
Supertip® carbide cutters are built just like standard carbide teeth, except they have an angled point with 60% more
carbide on the tips. This gives an increased cutting angle, which means faster cutting speeds and lower fuel consumption.
Used only in very clean, low impact cutting conditions in the Southeastern U.S. Not recommended for hardwoods or frozen timber.
Saw teeth bolts:
Teeth should always be attached by grade 8 bolts with washers. Remember, a sawhead is traveling up to 1250 RPM,
and if bolts fail, teeth will fly at an amazing rate of speed. When impacted with a large object such as a rock, track or
tramp metal, we recommend changing all bolts and not risk the danger. When changing from a single piece tooth to a
two piece tooth, longer bolts will likely be needed.
There are 4 basic sizes of teeth: Although there are a few exceptions, most teeth with shanks fall into these four sizes.
For questions identifying which tooth a machine is running, just get a sample, a tape measure and give us a call.

2" Short Shank Teeth: This size is used on narrow kerf Quadco® and Koehring sawheads. The kerf varies from 1-7/8" to 2"
and the 3/4" long shank will fit into machines using longer shank teeth (up to 1-3/4"). Shank diameter is 1" and uses 1/2"
NF bolts. Saw head uses anywhere from 16 to 20 teeth.
2" Long Shank Teeth: This size is very popular on newer narrow kerf Quadco® and Koehring sawheads. The kerf varies from
1-7/8" to 2-1/8" and the 1-1/2" long shank will fit into machines using longer shank teeth (up to 1-3/4"). Running short
and long shank teeth together on one sawhead is not recommended, because the weight difference can damage the sawhead.
Shank diameter is 1" and uses 1/2" NF bolts.
2-1/4" Short Shank Teeth: This size is the original Quadco® sawhead tooth. Some Koehring sawheads have installed Quadco®
discs to run this popular tooth configuration. The short 15/16" shank will fit into older machines with a 2" deep holder.
The shank diameter is 1-1/4" and uses 1/2" NF bolts. Sawhead usually uses 16 teeth.
2-3/8" Long Shank Teeth: These popular teeth are for the large kerf Koehring sawheads (4000 B series).
The kerf varies from 2-5/16" to 2-3/8". The 2" long shank is just a hair under 1-1/4" in diameter. The shank diameter is 1.234"
and uses 5/8" NF bolts. Very popular in two piece configurations. Saw head uses 18 teeth.
