Lewis Winch

The Lewis Winch is a handy tool for winching small logs for firewood, cleaning out a stream, or building a log house. Hunters like it for pulling big bucks or bulls up to the road. A Lewis winch has hundreds of uses because it can be used anywhere a chain saw will go. These winches are handy tools for occasional use, but for logging jobs, a skidder is still needed. Winch weighs only 38 lbs. (not counting the cable or saw motor) and is designed to pack a lot of power in a small spot. Pulling capacity depends on the size of the saw used, but maximum single line pull is about 4,000 pounds. Comes with 150' of 3/16" aircraft cable and all the adapters to fit virtually any saw (engine) including the direct connections as well as the short bar & cutterless chain. Attaches as easily as changing a saw bar. Generally, a 3 horsepower engine, will produce about 2,000 pounds of pulling power — an engine with 6 to 7 horsepower will generate up to 4,000 pounds of pulling power.
